Excellent Reference, but purchase wisely

The book is clear, and once you pay attention, easy to follow, and includes a good deal of information. A boon to genealogists.

However, be aware that the title promises "some Pennsylvania pioneers" and not all emigrants nor all family names. Before purchasing, you might want to see if you can be certain that your families are included. I've found that some of my direct family members are included, I've been able to learn more about less direct ancestors, but some of my mystery ancestors have remained mysteries.

Second, be aware that this text counts as a secondary source. It compiles information from a wide variety of original sources in one text. That's very helpful, but understand that the text has therefore been transcribed from early sources, and transcribed indicated the possibility (even likelihood) of small amounts of error and contradiction.

It's a terrific volume, I'm very glad to have it, but it helps to know exactly what you're purchasing.

I would have know that it didn't contain any Engel information. I'm still looking.

Very simple, powerful and straight to the point...

It's amazing how such a small book packs such a big punch. At least for those of us still searching for our true purpose in life. The ideas in this book are straight to the core. The author obviously speaks from life experiences and not from fictional ideas just to make a quick buck. I've been searching for sometime for this kind of motivation and ideas on how to become more successful. The whole concept of the book is a wake up call, makes you think and rethink your current strategies. Look forward to doing some more reading, will be following Secret Entourage closely, their content is definitely some of the best I've seen in quite sometime.

Read it at one sitting...

I really liked the ideas this book puts out there, it talks directly about people's perspectives on making it and the issues that we all face - mainly with our own ways of finding excuses when we try to achieve something. Reading it at one sitting def made an impact on me, I'm already keen to the ideas in this book, but it still inspired me, specially because it verbalized everything I already know but wasn't necessarily thinking about or doing anything about. Additionally what I learned is to move forward, which we all know how to do but we can always use a push and a shove in the right direction - reading this has made me just a little more focused on what I need to do... it's def. a book that causes self reflection, which can bring about a lot of good things.

Learned about my fears

I'll begin by saying that I never leave reviews like this unless I feel the need to based on quality of product.

I thought I was fearless. I picked up this book for its punch line of "changing your mindset" because I always believed that success starts with tweaking the way you look at everything. To my surprise this book had taught me much more than was anticipated. The book made me realize that even though I thought I was fearless, I was plagued everyday by fears I had not recognized as fears! I suggest you pick up the book even if only for its ability to allow you to analyze yourself and identify the fears that are holding you back.

Women on the Front Lines encourages every woman to rise up as a woman of God on the front lines of her generation. This call to courage is for every woman, no matter how ordinary or average she may think herself to be. We need godly heroes and heroines today. And when men and women faithfully believe and follow an extraordinary God, they will rise up as examples for the next generation.
In this book, Michal Ann passionately exhorts her reader to put aside fear and intimidation by sharing personal stories from her own life as she dealt with those issues. But the bulk of the book centers on the stories of nine women who lived from a few centuries A.D. to modern-day times-women who heeded the call to courage and followed God's call upon their lives. She profiles Joan of Arc, Perpetua, Sojourner Truth, Harriet Tubman, Aimee Semple McPherson, Lydia Prince, Bertha Smith, Corrie ten Boom, and Jackie Pullinger-To as examples of ordinary women who lived extraordinary lives.

This book really blessed me in my quest to conquer fear and gain boldness. I love the stories of other faithful women and Michal's genuine encouragement. She lays it out so well. I really got a clear picture of our place in Gods master plan for the body.

Great book, supports the view that women should be drafted.

In the Army I served with many capable women from Officers (senior ranking) to lower enlisted they did their duty well. Charles Rangel in 2003 passed a law HR 5741 that would include women in the next draft if Congress ever wants to draft people into the military. I support women in a variety or roles especially in support roles in the military. This book has numerous examples through out history of their value to civilization and the accomplishments they made.

About the Author
Dr. William L. Leffler, a retired executive from Royal Dutch/Shell, spent 36 years with that company. During his career he spent time in refining and marketing, petrochemicals, and corporate planning in the United States, and in exploration and production in London. He earned his MBA and PHD at New York University, and a BS at MIT. He has authored multiple PennWell titles including the bestselling Petroleum Refining in Nontechnical Language, 4th Edition (2008), Petrochemicals in Nontechnical Language, 4th Edition (2010), and Deepwater Petroleum Exploration & Production: A Nontechnical Guide, 2nd Edition (2011).
Martin S. Raymond, a veteran of more than 40 years in exploration and production, was senior vice-president - E&P for J.M. Huber Corporation. During his career he also held engineering, administrative, and management positions with Shell Oil and Forest Oil. He earned a BA degree from Princeton in geology and a masters degree from the University of California at Berkeley. Currently, Raymond consults in the area of operating process management for E & P companies.

The best overview I have read to date

Explains O&G production in simple, understandable terms. Critical reading for anyone working with the oil & gas industry in a support role. Begins with a history of exploration and production, and moves on to basic geology (actually inportant to understanding the O&G indutsry) and to some light chemistry, and finally production processes. Great book.

Being a financial advisor for over 2 decades....this is really a totally new thing for me. This book is great at breaking down the basics of all the various stages in the oil and gas process.
